That’s because this is my uncensored story of my journey not so long ago when I was in the same shoes you are in right now, and was looking for the perfect house plans to build my dream timber frame home. I would run into some “pretty good” looking timber frame house plans that would just need a few tweaks and they would be absolutely perfect…but these sites never offered any kind of support or a way to have the plans modified. And the sites that did allow the house plans to be modified either offered very bad quality plans or they would be incomplete!

This search went on for a few months, until one day I was chatting to a carpenter in my local hardware store.  He presented a fairly unusual solution that at first I thought was a long shot…

I tried just about everything else to get my hands on the perfect timber frame house plans at that point. I found sites that offered to “build dreams” followed by a “customer testimonial” stating how great the site was at putting their ideas into plans and then building their perfect timber frame house. I stumbled upon a magazine site giving me the option to do a free search in an attempt to find the timber frame house plans I was looking for…these were great for ideas but never detailed enough to actually have my house built from them.

I even stumbled upon a site offering me the ability to “budget flexibly” by designing my timber frame house plans around pre-existing plans. Needless to say, it cost me an arm and a leg for this “professional architectural” service and in the end I was left with INCOMPLETE house plans that the builders were unable to use to build my house!

After much frustration, I was advised by my carpenter friend to visit a site called woodworking 4 home. At first I thought there’s no way I’m going find what I’m looking for on this site. The way he had explained it to me, sounded to me more like a woodworking hobby site. When I finally visited the site I realized what he had meant…right there in front of me I had at my disposal over 14000 woodworking plans, including…you guessed it…timber frame house plans.

The only thing I did not like about the site was the fact that once I had access to all the plans, It was fairly difficult to navigate my way through the plans to eventually find that perfect timber frame house plans I had been looking so hard for. In my opinion they could have created a better search function for the site. But I guess that’s what happens when there are more than 14000 detailed plans to choose from!

Best of all, I had full support from the site owner as well! I couldn’t believe how much money I could’ve saved had I just known about the site earlier. And thanks to my carpenter friend, my wife and I are currently in the process of putting the finishing touches on our dream timber frame home.

So why did i create this site then?

Well thats easy, not too long ago i was in exactly the same shoes you are in now. So who the heck am i anyway?
